The Timetable Overview & Monitoring features help users review the overall state of timetable preparation and examine timetable allocations from different perspectives.
EasyEdmin provides completion indicators, a consolidated timetable overview, teacher highlighting, and other views that make it easier to review the timetable before it is finalized.
Timetable Completion #
EasyEdmin provides a completion percentage to help users monitor the progress of timetable preparation.
Completion can be viewed at two levels:
- Class-wise — shows the timetable completion status for an individual class.
- Overall — shows the completion status of the timetable as a whole.
These indicators help users identify classes that still require timetable planning and determine whether the timetable is ready for final review.
Class-wise Timetable Review #
Users can review the timetable for individual classes to verify that the required subjects and periods have been allocated appropriately.
A class-wise review can help identify:
- Subjects that still require allocation.
- Missing or incomplete periods.
- Teacher allocations.
- Learning resource / place allocations.
- Distribution of periods across the schedule.
This is particularly useful after running Auto Plan or while completing the timetable through manual planning.
Timetable Overview #
EasyEdmin provides a consolidated Timetable Overview that displays the timetables of all classes and their day-wise allocations on a single screen.
This provides a convenient way to review the timetable as a whole instead of opening each class timetable separately.
The overview can help users identify patterns such as:
- Period distribution across classes.
- Teacher allocations.
- Empty or unplanned periods.
- Overall scheduling patterns.
- Potential areas requiring adjustment.
Highlighting Teacher Allocations #
The timetable overview allows users to highlight the allocations of selected teachers.
This makes it easier to follow a particular teacher’s periods across different classes and days.
Teacher highlighting is especially useful when reviewing:
- A teacher’s weekly schedule.
- Teaching workload.
- Consecutive periods.
- Allocations across multiple classes.
- Potential scheduling issues.
Reviewing Teacher Workload #
Teacher allocations can be reviewed to understand how teaching periods are distributed across the week.
The review can help users identify whether a teacher has:
- An excessive number of periods.
- Too many consecutive periods.
- Gaps between teaching periods.
- Allocations across multiple classes.
The configured Maximum Periods per Week and Maximum Consecutive Periods provide planning limits that can be considered while reviewing the timetable.
Reviewing Learning Resource / Place Usage #
Where learning resources or places are used in timetable allocations, users can review their distribution across the timetable.
This is useful for resources such as:
- Computer Labs
- Science Labs
- Playgrounds
- Sports Rooms
- Skating Rinks
- Other specialised venues
Reviewing these allocations helps ensure that required resources are being used appropriately across the timetable.
Making Adjustments During Review #
If an issue is identified while reviewing the timetable, users can return to Manual Timetable Planning to make the required changes.
EasyEdmin supports drag-and-drop operations for swapping allocations, allowing users to refine the timetable efficiently.
After making changes, the timetable can be reviewed again to confirm that the required allocations and constraints are satisfied.
Class-Level Timetable Lock #
Once a class timetable has been reviewed and finalized, it can be protected using the Class-Level Timetable Lock.
A locked class timetable remains unchanged when Auto Plan is run.
This allows users to finalize classes progressively while continuing to plan the remaining classes.
Recommended Review Process #
A practical timetable review can follow this sequence:
Check Overall Completion → Review Class-wise Timetables → Review Teacher Allocations → Review Resources / Places → Identify Required Changes → Make Manual Adjustments → Review Again → Lock Completed Classes
Once the timetable has been reviewed and finalized, it can be Activated and, where required, Published to the Student/Parent App.
